MOU signing with Jhang chamber of Small Trader and Small industries
An MOU signing ceremony was held at College of Art and Sciences UOJ on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.
Business community along with president of JCSTSI; Mr. Liaqat Ali Malik and Ex-President: Sheikh Younis
visited the University. The MOU is based on collaboration of UOJ and JCSTSI.
The event was started by introduction of business community from Jhang chamber of small trader and small
industry and officials from university of Jhang.
“It is a great opportunity for citizens of Jhang to have a university in their area so there is no need
to go outside for higher studies now, especially for girls who couldn’t get higher education before just
to not get permitted to go out of their homes. ”Said Sheikh Younis at the event.
The chamber will support the university students on their start up and will provide legal as well as
technical support; however University will take into loop the chamber for requirements of local industry
and will play a role in problem solving of business community through research and development.
Entrepreneurship Seminar organized by ORIC Department UOJ
A seminar was organized on Thursday, 12th November, 2020 to highlight the importance of
entrepreneurship. Any new idea of business or with some innovate process of current business comes in
entrepreneurship. Mostly people don’t go for a new venture just by lack of information or courage, so an
initiative was taken by ORIC department UOJ to provide awareness among the students that
entrepreneurship is important for building national economy.
Mr. Liaqat Ali Malik, president of Jhang Chamber of Small Trader and Small Industries was the guest
speaker of the seminar. The students from Management Sciences and Economics department showed special
interest in attending and getting benefit from seminar.
Mr. Liaqat Ali Malik emphasized on the importance of a business startup, the legal registration, the
requirements and process of registration. And how registering a company and a logo are helpful in smooth
running of a venture. He also emphasized to take part in the filing of taxation being a responsible
citizens and how it is important for the nation building.
Later on Vice Chancellor, University of Jhang: Dr. Shahid Munir addressed the audience and shared many
successful business ventures from the community who stood nowhere initially but then by hard work,
commitment and courage reached the horizons in business.
At the end an honorary shield was presented to guest speaker and certificates were distributed among the
organizers.
MOU between Al-Khwarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) and University of Jhang
December 10, 2020: The worthy Vice Chancellor University of Jhang Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir and Research
Manager of Al-Khwarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), UET Lahore Mr Fahmeed Akram signed
Memorendum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony in Committee room at College of Arts & Sciences,
University of Jhang. This ceremony was organized by Ms Samina Suppra; Incharge of ORIC Department and Ms
Aasma Akram; Incharge of Computer Science Department, University of Jhang. Prof. Dr. Ashiq Dogar,
Controller Examination and other faculty members of Computer Science Department were also present in the
ceremony.
The purpose of this agreement highlights that KICS UET will support University of Jhang to work together
with Huawei to develop ICT talent in Pakistan. Furthermore KICS UET will also support University of
Jhang Huawei ICT academies operation in terms of training, certification, ICT talent ecosystem
activities like ICT competitions and Jobs etc.
Fahmeed Akram said that our master trainers would train students of University of Jhang to utilize their
Technology skills in national and international level.
At the end of ceremony, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, the worthy Vice Chancellor, University of Jhang said
that students of Computer Science Department should be given different Technology skills along with
education and KICS UET will play an important role in this initiative.
Mou between UOJ and NTU
A Memorandum of Understanding between University of Jhang and National Textile University was agreed on Thursday February 4th, 2021. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir as Vice Chncellor , UOJ and Dr. Ahsan Nazir, Director ORIC, NTU signed the agreement. Both of the institutes joined hands together for betterment of textile education in the region meanwhile helping each other in uplifting of infrastructures, faculty trainings, research activities and sharing of academic assets where needed. Further meetings will be conducted for working together on each and every project to start. NTU will support UOJ in establishing new programs at Department of BFA while sharing the expertise on Textiles and Fashion. NTU also welcomed the students and faculty Panel for visit of NTU premises and research lab infrastructure.
MOU between University of Jhang and Govt. College Women University, Faisalabad
A Memorandum of understanding was signed upon by GCWUF and UOJ. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir as Vice Chancellor UOJ and Prof. Dr. Rubina Farooq as Vice Chancellor GCWUF signed the agreement of mutual cooperation of the both institutes and aimed to work for wellbeing of society. The focus of MOU is to work on Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDG) 2030 of United Nations.
