Assistant Professor
Introduction
Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Anwar is currently serving as Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Jhang, where he held the HOD position from October 2019 to February 2025. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from LUMS Lahore, focusing on mathematical modeling and numerical solutions. He completed his M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Mathematics from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, receiving the President Gold Medal, and earlier a Gold Medal from the Governor of Sindh for academic excellence at the bachelor level.
Dr. Anwar has over 13 years of university-level teaching experience and previously served as a Lecturer (BPS-18) and Resident Tutor at UET Lahore on a regular basis. He has published over 75 research articles in Web of Science-indexed international journals, completed 350+ verified peer reviews, and recorded 27+ editorial contributions, all recognized by Web of Science™, Clarivate. He also received a Certificate of Excellence in Peer-Reviewing from Global Press Hub.
He was recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists for 2024 by Elsevier-Stanford and also awarded the USERN Laureate Prize 2023, being one of the top 5 selected globally from over 90,000 applicants. He served as Lead Editor of the special issue “Advances in Mathematical Modeling of Flow Problems with Fractional Derivatives” in Mathematical Problems in Engineering, and holds editorial board roles in multiple international journals.
He has organized and participated in several national and international conferences and attended university management and academic training programs. Dr. Anwar has supervised numerous MS students and one Ph.D. student, and served as an external examiner for MS/M.Phil. theses.
At the University of Jhang, he has been Convener of committees including Sports, Promotion, Purchase, and Discipline, and a member of various academic and administrative bodies. He also held the post of Additional Director of Purchase and Store on additional charge.
Earlier, during his training as a Nautical Cadet at the Pakistan Marine Academy, he earned certifications in safety, first aid, firefighting, swimming, survival techniques, and received a Certificate of Merit and First Prize in Navigation.
